A felicidade, por ser difícil de mensurar, e até mesmo de compreender, se torna algo utópico e subjetivo. De fato a felicidade é de responsabilidade de cada indivíduo, cabe a cada um o significado próprio e a sua busca, contudo, nos novos tempos, ela precisa ser uma das preocupações das empresas.
Isso é comprovado por meio de pesquisas, como por exemplo, a do Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship, da Universidade da Califórnia, que mostra que um colaborador feliz é, em média, 31% mais produtivo, três vezes mais criativo e suas vendas são 37% mais elevadas, em comparação com outros. Assim como um estudo realizado pela Right Management mostrou que o nível de produtividade dos funcionários pode aumentar em até 50% em organizações que investem no bem-estar e no estímulo positivo de seus colaboradores.
Já uma pesquisa da Harvard Business Review mostra que pessoas felizes são 300% mais criativas e inovadoras. Em relação a doenças, este é um ponto extremamente relevante nos tempos atuais. Segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), estima-se que atualmente 5% dos adultos do mundo sofrem de depressão e que, de acordo com os dados da organização, ela se tornará a doença mais comum em 2030. A OMS também declarou que o número de casos de depressão aumentou em 25% desde a pandemia. Ou seja, se as lideranças e profissionais de Recursos Humanos não estiverem voltados a implementar ações que proporcionem satisfação no trabalho, cuidado com a saúde mental, burnout, ansiedade e depressão, é provável que percam em produtividade, crescimento e lucros. Mas será que programas de mindfulness, yoga, acompanhamento psicológico bastam para cuidar da felicidade dos colaboradores?
Tudo indica que não. Mas, sim, que tratar a felicidade é algo mais profundo e deve ser pensado a longo prazo. Partindo do significado de felicidade, “estado de uma consciência plenamente satisfeita; satisfação, contentamento, bem-estar”, ou conceitos de estudiosos como Shawn Achor, autor de O Jeito Harvard de Ser Feliz, “felicidade é a alegria que sentimos quando buscamos atingir nosso pleno potencial.” além disso, “felicidade leva ao sucesso e realização, e não o contrário”. E também da definição de Sonja Lyubomirsky, autora de A Ciência da Felicidade, “Felicidade é a experiência de contentamento e bem- estar, combinada com a sensação de que a vida possui sentido e vale a pena.”, podemos entender a relação com o propósito.
No ambiente profissional, um colaborador que entende o real sentido de seu trabalho e este está ligado aos seus valores, que suas atividades são reconhecidas como parte do sucesso da organização, que seu esforço é percebido e o relacionamento com os colegas traz satisfação, ou seja, emoções positivas o cercam e há um senso de pertencimento, tudo indica que ele trará mais resultados para a organização.
Além do propósito do próprio colaborador com suas práticas diárias, a organização deve ter um propósito bem definido para haver essa identificação. De acordo com outra pesquisa da Harvard Business Review, as pessoas empregadas em empresas com propósito relatam quase o dobro da satisfação no trabalho e são três vezes mais propensas a permanecer naquela organização.
